Audi A8 — German engineering rewards exact-interval service

Maintenance

Service intervals, by the book.

Every marque has its own maintenance philosophy. Mercedes runs A/B cycles. Porsche has minor and major. Audi and VW work on 10K/20K minor-major rhythms. Below is what we actually do at each interval — and why each one matters.

Why we care about specs

The wrong oil shortens the life of the engine. Quietly.

Every marque has a specific oil specification — Mercedes 229.x, VW/Audi 502/504/507, Porsche A40. They're not interchangeable, and using the wrong one can void warranty and cause real damage over time. We pour Motul synthetic in the correct spec for every car we service, and we use OEM filters. No substitutes.

Mercedes-Benz 229.5, 229.51, 229.71 — depending on engine
Porsche A40 (most), C30/C40 (newer turbo gas), C20 (hybrid)
VW / Audi 502 (gas), 504 (LongLife gas), 507 (diesel)
